SOCIAL GOVERNANCE: NYA-ETOK INSISTS GOVERNANCE IS NOT SELF-AGGRANDISEMENT
The Social Governance Ideologist, Arc. Ezekiel Nya-Etok has condemned the divide and eat notion and attitude of elected officials who neglect responsibilities of prioritizing the masses welfare for their selfish gains.
Arc. Ezekiel Nya-Etok made the condemnation during the on air “Nya-Etok 10 -11 on XL 106.9 FM” radio program, Wednesday in Uyo.
The Ideologist setting the agenda for 2020 during the on air program revealed that those really threatened by the fundamentals of the social governance are those who think that governance is all about divide and eat instead of delivering on the mandate bestowed on them through votes by the citizens.
Ezekiel Nya-Etok insisted that elected officials are supposed to lead a responsive and responsible governance as the opposites acted upon by them are affecting the people, especially rural dwellers who are dying on daily basis while most are in abject poverty.
Expressing dissatisfaction over this attitude by those in government, Nya-Etok questioned: “are you telling me that you are happy that the people are really suffering especially those in the rural areas? Do you think that we have to be Americans to know that wrong is wrong and what is good is good? Do you know that government is all about you serving the people and not the people serving you?
“Politics is supposed to be beneficial but not a divide and eat affair. You are to go there and serve the people and then the reward will come to you for serving them. Politics is a game of interest but it has an essence and that is what is embedded in the seven fundamentals.
Arc. Ezekiel Nya-Etok expressed a strong believe that there is going to be a massive revolution as the masses will want aspiring persons to imbibe and also bring on board the social governance ideologies.
This he affirmed by stating that the end of 2020 is going to witness a complete paradigm shift due to vigorous campaigns to be embarked upon concerning social governance and at this point, no one will care about the political party that anybody belongs to”.
He assured that “come 2023 Akwa Ibom State will be governed by those who believe in social governance irrespective of which political party files candidates. With that, everyone who is looking for an avenue to loot and steal money; right from councillors, local government chairmen, Lawmakers upto governors will not get a chance on being elected.
The Social Governance Ideologist stated too that by the time President Muhammadu Buhari signs in the electoral reform act which will make every vote counts, those intending to contest will have to make sure that they impress upon the people that they will deliver on the fundamentals inorder to gain their votes.
