The terms of the resolution have that “the meeting-in-session reaffirms an earlier position taken on 3rd April, 2016 by an enlarged meeting of Ibiono Ibom office holders, Party Officials, Major Stakeholders, Youth leaders, Women and Student Representatives on zoning of political positions in Ibiono Ibom as stipulated in relevant document.

“That a single term of three (3) years is hereby reaffirmed for the zoning and rotation of Council Chairmanship in Ibiono Ibom.

“It is on record that all other zones have taken both elective and appointive Chairmanship position in Ibiono Ibom, except South, we therefore zone the Council Chairmanship position in the forthcoming Local Government election to the South in the interest of justice, equity and fairness.
