LEWA CAPS HER LOVE VISIT WITH THANKSGIVING IN ESIT EKET

Legislators Wives Association’s (LEWA) three-day love outing to the three Senatorial Districts of Akwa Ibom State has been capped with a thanksgiving service in Esit Eket LGA at The Apostolic Church Ndon Eyo, Uquo District, Uquo Area, Eket Field, Akwa Ibom State Territory with donation of N1m towards church building.

Leading the women in thanksgiving with a song, “Ami nyene nso kan ekom ndino-Abasi,” the LEWA President and wife of the Speaker, Mrs Itohowo Aniekan Bassey say they have no ransom sufficient for God’s benevolence and love towards them, their husbands and entire Akwa Ibom people than their heartfelt thanksgiving.

“We are very glad for the opportunity to tell God thank you! We needed a place like a manger to tell God you are king of Kings and the Lord of universe.

“We also thank God for what He has done for us and our husbands. Some of our husbands have been making laws for the State right from 5th and the 6th Assembly,” Mrs Itohowo Bassey said.

LEWA thanked God for the Governor, the wife and the entire State Executive for His directive and wisdom upon them in piloting the affairs of the State. The group specially appreciated Governor, His Excellency, Mr Udom Emmanuel and wife for the love which they share which has translated to what they are giving back to the society.

LEWA President urged Akwa Ibom people to preach the gospel of love wherever they are so God can perfect His will in the State.

She went further to explain the role of the Akwa Ibom State First Lady who taught them how to put up the right behaviour both in their homes and society.

“Our mother, the Wife of the Governor has taught us many things. Good behaviour, home management and how to relate with one another.”

LEWA acknowledged the role of the Governor in sustainable peace experienced in the State which was not so in previous times.

The group urged women to speak out in cases of violence, rape as there is a Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Path Initiative (FEYReP) and International Federation of Women Lawyers-AKS chapter phone numbers in public domain to contact in matter of emergency on such cases.

The host, Mrs Ini Usoro Akpanusoh in her speech, welcome LEWA members to Esit Eket LGA and appreciated them for choosing to worship God in the Church. She added that the group is engaging the grace and blessing already in the church building project.

The District Pastor, Pst. Raphael Samuel in his homely read the book of Esther 4:10-12 and charged the women and congregation not to despise God’s calling whatever position God puts them.

Also present in church service were the Clan Head of Ekid Offiong Clan, Nsoduok-Etteudo Ikot, Esit Eket LGA; The Counsellor, Ward 5 – Esit Eket LGA, Hon. Sunday Etim Tom.

The highlight of the event featured donation of wrappers to women and the sum of N1m towards the church building project.
