Delegates of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the 10 Wards in Nsit Atai LGA have aligned with the political ambition of their son, Prince Aniefiok Attah who is from Ikot Ubok Udom village in Ibedu group of villages in Nsit Atai and favoured by the micro-zoning arrangement in the area.

This formed part of the agenda of the new year get-together organised by the aspiring state lawmaker as he played host to delegates across Wards in Nsit Atai LGA on Saturday.

According to the aspirant, the meeting was to meet with power wielders in the area as it is in his habit to host them annually; and also to officially launch his political campaign for the aspiration to State Assembly in 2023.

Giving brief antecedent of his political outing in the area, Prince Aniefiok Attah said he is tagging his Campaign Organisation’s name, ‘Ekemini-Abasi 2023’ in reference to his many political ambitions in the past which called for more trial in future. He added that reason for him not succeeding in those past attempts was because he personally sought for those positions except this time which the people are asking him to aspire for the State Assembly seat.

He said with the micro-zoning in the area and the peace machinery set-up by the State Government across the 31 LGA, peace will be maintained as various aspirants will go about their various consultations without rancour.

Speaking on behalf of councillors, Hon. Aniebiet Cornelius from Ward 10 said the political course of Prince Aniefiok Attah is not new and is a course for all in Nsit Atai to support because it is favoured by the internal micro-zoning arrangement in the area.

“The people are aware that is why the people base on micro-zoning arrangement say that he should go to State Assembly after Rt. Hon Mark Esset.”

The Councillor made reference to the incumbent representative of Nsit Atai people in the State Legislature, stating that he has an effective reward system, hence delegates need a representative who will be able to wear the large shoe he will leave behind.

“We should be able to tow one line and speak in same language on this journey. We should avoid double-standards and shady deals during this electioneering period.”

He however assured the aspiring lawmaker of victory during Party Primaries.

Representing PDP at Chapter level, Hon Donatus Asuquo, PDP Deputy Chapter Chairman in the area said that power resides with the people and they know the direction in Nsit Atai LGA.

Speaking for the elders, Elder Jimmy Akpanama encouraged the people to support the duo of Rt. Hon. Mark Esset and Prince Aniefiok Attah for House of Representative and House of Assembly, respectively.

He assured with the duo, more development will be drawn to Uyo/Uruan/Ibesikpo Asutan/Nsit Atai Federal Constituency and Nsit Atai State Constituency, respectively.

He urged delegates to support Nsit Atai to aspire for the Federal House seat as PDP has not produced a representative for the position in Nsit Atai LGA before.

PDP Chairman of Ward 3, Hon. Effiong Augustine Okon said he is always in support of courses which will engender peace in the area and as he supported Rt. Hon. Mark Esset because of his habit in servicing Party structures, he will also support a man who will recognise party structure and service same.

Woman Leader, Ward 4, Mrs Grace Etim said the women encourage servicing of party structure which will curtail political crossbreeding.

Meanwhile, the immediate past Chairman of PDP, Nsit Atai, Hon Chrysanctus Okon and the DG of ‘Ekemini-Abasi 2023’ Campaign Organisation moved a
consensus motion that Rt. Hon Mark Esset should vie for a position to represent Uyo Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.
