APC CRISIS: OSHIOMHOLE GETS VOTE OF CONFIDENCE FROM STATE CHAIRMEN
The embattled national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, has gotten a confidence vote from state chairmen of the party.
The confidence vote was passed on Oshiomhole shortly after the executives emerged from a meeting in Abuja on Monday 9, The Sun reports.
In a communique issued by the executives, the group questioned why Oshiomhole was being vilified when he had led the party to more recent electoral victories than in 2015. The state chairmen accused detractors and enemies of the APC of being behind the call for Oshiomhole’s removal.
The party executives urged party members in court to seek political solutions to the disagreements within the party.
“We the State Chairmen frown at the level of impunity being experienced in our great party in which, unauthorized individuals will issue press statements using the name of our party to deceive the leaders of the party and the unsuspecting public, thereby causing disaffection among the party leadership. All individuals involved in this practice should be mindful that their conduct is prohibited under the relevant sections of our party Constitution,” the executives said.
