AKWA UNITED HEAD COACH SIGNS NEW DEAL UNTIL 2021
Coach Kennedy Boboye has signed a new contract as Akwa United head coach , keeping him with the promise keepers until 2023.
Boboye was unveiled , Tuesday, during the contract signing ceremony at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
In his speech,the Coach expressed delight to have signed a new deal ,which according to him , shows commitment and readiness to place the club on the top position of the league .
On his part, Chairman of the Promise Keepers, Elder Paul Bassey , described Akwa United as a factor in the Nigerian football in the last seasons and assured of the club’s readiness to secure comfortable place on the league’s table.
Hear him,” the extension of Coach Boboye follows the quality service he rendered during the last season.
“Akwa United would start this year’s league on a spring to secure a comfortable place in the league.
” The club has disciplined team this year ,made up of young determined players who are ready to make a difference.”
Elder Bassey, acknowledging the roles played by the media in promoting the club’s objectives and achievements , solicited for their support in order to boost the club’s performance in the league.
Also speaking, Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Amos Etuk, thanked the management of Akwa United for the initiative to reposition the club for effective football season.
He however decried the continued postponement of the resumption of Nigeria Professional Football League and called on football administrators in the country to live above board.
On his part, the chairman of Sport Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Comrade Emmanuel Akpan expressed delight at the unveiling of the coach for the State football team and assured of SWAN’s continuous partnership with the club to take it to another height.
The event also featured the unveiling of the home and away Jerseys for Akwa United.
