AKWA/CROSS INDIGENES IN ISREAL DONATE EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS TO A’IBOM GOVT
As part of its effort to support the provision of quality education Initiative of the State Government to its citizens, the Association of Akwa Ibom & Cross River State Indigenes in Tel Aviv – Israel, has donated ten thousand (10,000) Exercise books to the Akwa Ibom State Government for distribution to public schools in the State.
The association made the donation, Thursday, during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Education, Prof Nse Essien at Idongesit Nkanga secretariat, Uyo.
In her address, leader of the delegation, Mrs Patience James, said the group, which has been in existence for over 20 years, has been representing the State meritoriously in the Holy Land, disclosing that every October is set aside to celebrate the Akwa Cross Day, a day she said, serves as an opportunity to showcase the rich culture of Akwa Ibom and Cross River States.
She expressed readiness of the group to partner the State government through the Ministry of education to record a remarkable landmark in the education sector in the State.
In his response, welcoming the group to the State, Prof. Essien, expressed gratitude to them for the gesture, noting that the exercise books will go a long way in helping students in public schools.
He urged the association’s representatives to inform their colleagues in Israel about the giant strides recorded by the government of Deacon Udom Emmanuel in Education sector.
