A’IBOM COMMISSIONER OF POLICE INAUGURATES UYO LG CPAC
…as Acting Chairman charges members on effective community service

In line with the Federal Government directives to constitutes in all the States Community Policing Advisory Committee, The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Oluwole Edgal on Wednesday inaugurated members of the committee in Uyo Local Government Area.
While inaugurating the committee, CP Edgal stated that the rate of community, social violence and criminality as necessitated the constitution of the committee to overseer, direct and report same to the Area Command the full compliance and cooperation of community members towards securing, guiding and defending the course of any community in the state against any internal or external attacks.
He also stated that the committee is saddle with the responsibility to maintain Peace and Order, tackle criminality, provide security awesomeness, effective community policing to support and aid the security situation in Uyo Local Government Area and most importantly fashion out modalities as a bridge within the people and the community.
In his response, Otuekong Hon. Ukai Udeme Emmanuel, The Acting Chairman of Uyo Local Government Council thanked and appreciated CP Imohimi Oluwole Edgal, the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police for his superlative leadership prowess in joining hands with His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel to combat with violence and for maintaining peace and order in the state.
Hon. Ukai however charged the committee to discharge their duties with succor towards having a violence free community and also reiterated his commitment to support and encourage every course of the services provided.
The Committee members consist of Otuekong Hon. Ukai Udeme Emmanuel, The Acting Chairman of Uyo Local Government Council, ACP Rabo Ishaku, Uyo Area Commander of the Nigerian Police Force, HRM Edidem Slyvanus Effiong Okon, the Paramount Ruler of Uyo Local Government Area among other members drawn from the Local Government Area.
