2023: NORTH WILL RULE AGAIN FOR EIGHT YEARS – DEJI ADEYANJU

Former Head of New Media for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Co-Convener of ‘Our Mumu Don Do’, Deji Adeyanju has foretold that the next President of Nigeria will come from the North and rule for 8 years.

Adeyanju said this recently via Google Meet to members of the Conference of Online Publishers in Akwa Ibom State (COOPA) during their ongoing ‘Democracy Day Social Media Convo’ series.

The activist explained that any candidate the North will bring out will win due to the politics of godfatherism played by stakeholders in other regions of Nigeria.

“The Northerners have used politically naive people like Akpabio, Amaechi and Tinubu to make the South appear they don’t have votes. Without votes, you can’t have influential voice on the negotiation table. Any candidate the North brings out will win. You can take it to the bank, the North will produce the next President and he will rule for another eight (8) years,” he said.

He observed that neither the PDP or APC stood a chance in producing a non-north successor to President Buhari due to the compromises of those at the fore.

“Akpabio had compromised in PDP long before he defected. You could remember that he never spoke as the Leader of the opposition in the Senate.

“Tinubu is playing God in Lagos State because some cowards have allowed him to play God. There is no one that comes into politics as God that is why no one should play God. My greatest wish in Nigeria is to have an alternative to PDP and APC,” he quipped.

Bearing his mind on zoning, Adeyanju recalled that “Goodluck Jonathan was the first person to breach the zoning arrangement in 2011 because he had a joint ticket with Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

“Yar’Adua unexpectedly died and providence popped up Jonathan who became president. After he became president, it was expected that the time was the turn of the North and therefore he should have excused himself and allow the north to complete their term. But Jonathan refused. He contested that election in 2011 and won against the bickerings in the north.

“You could see that the fabrics of the country was shaken. Anybody who was politically savvy and calculative enough knew that there was no way the north would not have conspired against Jonathan in 2015. The conspiracy was understandable, he recounted.”

Speaking on Nigeria’s democracy at 21, Adeyanju said what is practised is civil rule and not democracy.

“We are not practicing democracy. What we experience is Civil rule. We only saw semblance of democracy under President Yar’Adua and Goodluck Johnathan. The rest have military background and we saw and also have seen how they frequently exhibited military tendency. Under the current administration, democracy is far gone. Nigerians forgot history that is the reason they fell for 2015 scam.
